Lt. Bertolino and Lt. Rybicki, West Point classmates of John Hoskins, each gave the ultimate sacrifice serving their country in combat. Bertolino perished in the large June 19, 1967 battle near Ap Bac Village in the Mekong Delta. Rybicki perished during a patrol in the Rung Sat on May 9th, 1967. Both Lieutenants were Platoon Leaders with A Company, 47th/47th – same Battalion as Hoskins.
