? Platoon, Bravo Company, 4th/47th Battalion, 2nd Brigade

Here’s Leon’s portrait taken after he finished Basic training in 1967.  Following his infantry training he was
assigned to Bravo Company, 4th/47th in June 1967. His tour of duty abruptly ended in November when he was wounded by enemy fire in the Mekong Delta.
Between patrols, Leon prepares for the next mission by cleaning his M-60 Machine Gun.
 
Here’s Leon taking a break on the Navy’s pontoon with a Tango landing craft to his rear. The Navy had a habit of taking us to some very bad places down in the Mekong.
