He is survived by his mother, Berta; wife, Janey; two sons, Benjamin III and Jason; brothers, Roland “Pallio” and Pete; sisters, Leonarda, Estella, Berta, Delia and Christina; grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed and always loved and remembered. At Benjamin’s request there will not be any services held.

This hurts. Ace was one of my favorites. Even in the thick of things Ace and I would find something to laugh about. He always smiled and was fun to be around. I remember in one battle Ace was hit by shrapnel under his eye while we were laying against a rice paddy dike. I watched him wipe the blood off and go about his business. The last time we talked at one of our Charlie Company Reunions, I told him that I would try to help him get a Purple Heart but he told me no. This is truly a sad day.

I will send my condolences to the family.  I remember Ben well, He came up to me years ago at one of our first reunion over twenty years ago and said, ” Hello John”, just like that out of the blue he remembered me – I was pleasently surprised and shocked as it had been over 22 years that we had fought together in that war and he knew who I was right off the bat. I will never forget that about Ben, he was a true brother.  He will be missed
